A significant python, estimated at 16 feet, ensnared a 64-year-old woman in her Bangkok-area kitchen, holding her for approximately two hours before rescue. The reptile initially latched onto her thigh as she prepared for evening chores. Responding officers found the woman visibly exhausted and pale, still leaning against her door with the snake coiled around her.
She sustained several bites but, according to reports and observed footage, appeared otherwise physically unharmed following the ordeal. Medical attention was provided for the injuries.
The incident, which occurred Tuesday night, has brought attention to the uncommon but possible occurrences of snake attacks on humans. This particular encounter required the intervention of a snake wrangler for the safe removal of the python. The circumstances of how the sizable serpent gained entry into the domestic space remain a point of inquiry.
