EDMOND, OK—Sunday night saw a gathering near Arcadia Lake descend into chaos, with gunfire erupting and sending at least 12 individuals to local hospitals. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on May 4th, following a party attended primarily by young adults and older teenagers.
The precise number of injured, fluctuating between 10 and 12 across initial reports, highlights the unfolding and, as yet, unclear nature of the event. Authorities confirmed 10 people were transported to hospitals, while others apparently sought medical attention independently. Three were admitted to Integris Health Edmond Hospital, with nine others at Integris Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
The Edmond Police Department is spearheading the investigation into the shooting. Spokesperson Emily Ward stated that while no suspects are currently in custody, there is no indication of an ongoing public threat. Multiple 911 calls prompted a significant police response to the area east of East 15th Street and Air Depot. Reports describe chaotic scenes upon arrival, with some injured individuals discovered in a vehicle.
