Injury sidelines rising star Jasson Domínguez, Yankees shuffle outfield
NEW YORK – Jasson Domínguez, outfielder for the New York Yankees, has been placed on the injured list following a jarring collision with the left-field wall. The incident occurred on the very first play of Thursday’s game against the Texas Rangers at Yankee Stadium. Domínguez sustained a low-grade AC sprain in his left shoulder and has also been placed in concussion protocol.
The team confirmed the shoulder sprain and concussion protocol placement after the Yankees' 9-2 victory.
Domínguez crashed into the video advertising board while making a difficult catch on a fly ball hit by Brandon Nimmo. The play, which occurred 375 feet from home plate, saw Domínguez hit the wall with his shoulder and face. After the collision, he was seen clutching his head and pointing to his shoulder before being examined by team personnel. He was subsequently driven off the field in a medical cart, though he was able to walk to it under his own power.

The Yankees have announced plans to call up outfielder Spencer Jones to fill Domínguez’s spot on the roster. Following Domínguez’s exit, the Yankees’ outfield alignment saw Amed Rosario shift to right field and Cody Bellinger move from right to left field.
Domínguez is also undergoing an MRI on his injured left shoulder. Manager Aaron Boone had reportedly offered a positive assessment of Domínguez’s defensive abilities earlier in the day, noting his continuous improvement.
