Bhopal, India – Twisha Sharma, a former model and actor, was cremated in Bhopal on May 24, 2026, twelve days after her death. The ceremony followed a second post-mortem examination conducted by a team from AIIMS Delhi at AIIMS Bhopal, ordered by the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Her family has accused her in-laws of dowry harassment and abetment to suicide, while the in-laws have countered with allegations of drug addiction.

The second autopsy was a direct result of concerns raised by Twisha Sharma's family regarding perceived gaps and inconsistencies in the initial investigation and post-mortem report. The High Court's directive for a second examination underscored the need for public confidence in the investigative process. Twisha Sharma, 33, was found hanging at her matrimonial home in Bhopal's Katara Hills area on May 12.

RITES PERFORMED UNDER LEGAL SCRUTINY
The last rites took place at Bhadbhada Vishram Ghat in Bhopal. Twisha's brother, Major Harshit Sharma, performed the traditional rituals, including covering her in a red saree as per Hindu customs. The family expressed that they were satisfied with the procedure of the second autopsy, hoping it would bring transparency to the case.
