Notable Appearances Confirmed in Rajkummar Rao-Sanya Malhotra Film
The recently released film 'Toaster,' starring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra, features surprise appearances from prominent figures in the film industry. Director and choreographer Farah Khan, acclaimed actor Pratik Gandhi, and actress Patralekhaa have reportedly made cameo appearances in the movie. The film, which premiered on Netflix on April 15, has been noted for its quirky trailer and its attempt to find humor in unexpected situations.
The film marks Patralekhaa's debut as a producer, a transition she discussed in an interview with Hindustan Times in February 2025. She described stepping into production as an "organic extension of my love for storytelling," aiming to create a platform for "inspiring stories." She noted the significant difference between acting and producing, highlighting the broader responsibilities involved in the latter, from script development to execution.

'Toaster' is described as a story that immediately stood out for its unique comedic approach. The screenplay and story are credited to Parveez Shaikh, with additional writing by Akshat Ghildial and Anagh Mukerjee. Ghildial also contributed to the film's dialogues. The project is a directorial debut for Vivek Das Chaudhary.
The film's debut as a production venture for both Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa, under their banner Kampa Film, aligns with Netflix India's stated focus on "inventive storytelling and emerging talent." This collaborative production effort reportedly began with Patralekhaa convincing Rao to make the film over breakfast.
Other cast members include Archana Puran Singh, Upendra Limaye, Abhishek Banerjee, and Seema Pahwa. Banerjee is also noted for sporting a new look in the film. 'Toaster' was released on Netflix, with reports suggesting a mid-April release.
