SSP Group PLC has detailed a period of notable expansion, marked by significant moves within major European travel hubs. The company's first-half 2026 earnings call underscored a strategy centered on developing and operating food and beverage outlets in airports and train stations across key territories.
The firm's operations in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg have seen particular emphasis. A joint venture, Extime Food & Beverage Paris, was authorized by the French Competition Authority. This entity, a collaboration between Aéroport de Paris (ADP) and SSP Group, will oversee the management and operation of food and beverage concessions at both Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports. The unveiled brand lineup for these Parisian airports promises a "brand-new food service offering" to passengers, following the creation of this joint company.
Further illustrating its growth trajectory, SSP Group is extending its reach into Italy. The company is partnering with Grandi Stazioni, an Italian rail station operator, to introduce several of its brands—LEON, YO!, EXKi, and Granaio—at Rome Termini Station. This move signifies SSP's entry into its 37th market, broadening its operational footprint. These developments point to a deliberate strategy of embedding its services within high-traffic transit environments.
