Simon Seungmin Lee of the Republic of Korea and Jennifer Sräga from Germany emerged victorious at The G4D Open held at Celtic Manor Resort, marking their inaugural wins at the championship. Both golfers secured their titles through tense final-hole performances on the Roman Road Course.
Sräga's victory was sealed with a crucial closing par, while her competitor registered a double bogey. Lee, ranked number two in the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD), achieved his debut win with a score of three over par, one shot ahead of his nearest rival.
The event, which ran from May 14-16, saw competitors vying for gross prizes across various sport classes, including Intellectual, Standing, Sitting, and Visual categories. The women's championship was particularly dramatic, with Sräga's strategic play, including two birdies on the front nine, proving decisive. Her background, born with achondroplasia (short stature), was highlighted as she navigated the course.
