TEXAS SHUTS DOWN CHICAGO IN 6-0 VICTORY
ARLINGTON, Texas – The Texas Rangers inflicted a decisive 6-0 defeat upon the Chicago Cubs on Saturday night, forcefully snapping Chicago's remarkable 10-game winning streak. This marked the second such extended run for the Cubs this season, abruptly halted by a disciplined Texas offense and stout pitching.
The Rangers' offense was powered by timely home runs from Josh Jung and Justin Foscue. Alejandro Osuna contributed significantly with two crucial RBI singles, driving in multiple runs and establishing a lead the Cubs could not surmount.
Cub pitcher Edward Cabrera faced significant difficulty, surrendering five earned runs across five innings. The Cubs' typically potent offense found itself largely silenced, managing only four hits throughout the contest. Joc Pederson, a former Cubs outfielder, had a modest outing for Texas, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Rangers Even Series Amidst Injury Concerns
The victory for Texas serves to even the series against Chicago, with a decisive rubber match scheduled for Sunday. This win comes as the Rangers continue to navigate player availability, with several key pitchers sidelined. Notably, the Cubs have also placed pitchers on the injured list recently, including LHP Riley Martin (elbow) and RHP Hunter Harvey (triceps). The Rangers have seen LHP Robert Garcia, RHP Carter Baumler, and RHP Luis Curvelo placed on the injured list in recent weeks.
Justin Foscue, whose homer was a key factor in Saturday's win, has had a complex season. While he saw limited action in Texas earlier in the year, he returned to Double-A Frisco, where he demonstrated considerable power, hitting 15 home runs and driving in 81 runs. His performance at Frisco placed him among league leaders in several offensive categories. He has experienced stints on the injured list himself due to back and oblique issues.
