Forward Agrees Mutual Termination of Contract
Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian winger, has reached an agreement with Liverpool to terminate his contract early. He states he is "at peace" with this decision to depart at the conclusion of the current season. This move brings to a close a period of nine years at Anfield.
The decision to part ways appears to stem from ongoing friction. Salah indicated in an interview that he felt it was the "right thing to do now". This comes after a season described as "arguably the most frustrating of that period". A public disagreement with manager Arne Slot in December, where Salah felt "thrown under the bus" after being benched during a dip in form, highlighted underlying tensions. While that specific issue was reportedly resolved upon Salah's return from the Africa Cup of Nations, the mutual agreement to end his contract without a transfer fee suggests the relationship had not fully recovered. Salah's reported £400,000-a-week contract has been mutually terminated.

Salah's comments were made during an interview with former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, broadcast on TNT Sports. He articulated a sense of calm regarding his departure, opting to leave "on his own terms".
