A series of assaults targeting Jewish premises in north London has led to multiple arrests, with authorities investigating potential links to Iranian proxies. The investigations encompass acts of vandalism, including the smearing of feces and urine on synagogues, a Jewish school, and private residences, as well as arson attacks on community ambulances and a former Jewish charity. One incident involved a drone flown near the Israeli embassy.
Counter-terror police are actively probing the possible involvement of Iranian proxies in these coordinated attacks. This line of inquiry emerged following an attempted arson attack on April 15 at Finchley Reform Synagogue, which coincided with an incident outside the offices of a Persian media company in northwest London. The prime minister has publicly voiced concerns about countries utilizing proxies for attacks within the UK.
