Thousands have once again laced up their trainers for the annual London Landmarks Half Marathon, turning the city into a ribbon of movement and fundraising. The 13.1-mile route wound through central London on Sunday, April 7, 2025, past iconic sights including Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, and St Paul's Cathedral. More than 20,000 runners participated, making this edition one of the largest yet.
Race Highlights and Charity Impact
This year's event saw a significant financial haul, with the marathon raising £13.99 million for charity. Since its inception in 2018, the London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) has collected over £70 million for various causes, with Tommy's, the UK's leading pregnancy charity, being the official partner. The race started at Downing Street and its unique course traverses both the City of Westminster and the City of London.
Notable participants included celebrities such as actor Stephen Mangan, Traitors star Harry Clark, singer Alexandra Burke, presenter Louise Minchin, and Olympians Dame Kelly Holmes, Aimee Fuller, and Eve Muirhead. Dame Kelly Holmes not only ran but also officially started the race, adding to the star-studded atmosphere. Runners donned elaborate costumes, including one participant aiming to break a half marathon world record while dressed as a giant womb to raise awareness for Target Ovarian Cancer.

Diverse Participants and Spectator Engagement
The LLHM is recognized for its inclusivity, welcoming a broad spectrum of participants. This year featured non-assisted and assisted wheelchair races, visually impaired runners with guides, and individuals from "all walks of life." Spectators lined the streets, creating an "electrifying atmosphere" and cheering participants on.
The event prides itself on its community engagement, involving London-wide schools, boroughs, community groups, cultural organizations, sports clubs, and businesses. This approach aims to highlight London's "cultural landmarks and heritage" alongside its "quirky and hidden secrets."
Race Details and Infrastructure
Official results indicate that Sabastian Sawe finished first for men with a time of 01:01:30, and Tigst Assefa won for women at 01:06:40. The race utilizes 'chip timing' to record each participant's performance accurately.
