A Long Sentence for a Wide-Reaching Operation
Jasveen Sangha, known as the 'Ketamine Queen', has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison. The sentence, handed down on April 8, 2026, stems from her involvement in supplying the ketamine that led to the overdose death of actor Matthew Perry. This marks the harshest penalty thus far among the individuals charged in connection with Perry's death.

Sangha, 42, admitted to a range of charges including maintaining a drug-involved premises, three counts of distributing ketamine, and one count of distributing ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury. Prosecutors detailed her operation as a "high-volume drug trafficking business" run from her North Hollywood home. She was found to have supplied ketamine vials to Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry's personal assistant, who repeatedly injected the actor with the drug, including on the day Perry died.

Family's Pain, Legal Proceedings
Perry's parents, Suzanne Perry and Keith Morrison, were present at the sentencing hearing. Morrison spoke to the court, expressing the "daily, grinding sadness and sorrow" the family endures, directly addressing Sangha as a "drug dealer." Sangha's stepmother also submitted a victim impact statement, highlighting the profound grief caused by the actor's death.

The conviction comes after Sangha initially pleaded not guilty. She reversed this plea, agreeing to a deal with prosecutors. This sentence is expected to be significantly longer than those of her co-defendants.

Kenneth Iwamasa: Perry's personal assistant who administered the ketamine, facing up to 15 years.
Erik Fleming: Another dealer involved in supplying drugs.

Background
Matthew Perry, known for his role as Chandler Bing in the sitcom "Friends," was found dead on October 2023. The cause of death was determined to be the acute effects of ketamine. Perry had publicly documented his struggles with addiction throughout his life, seeking treatment multiple times. Investigators found that Perry sought more ketamine than his legal providers would supply, leading him to sources like Sangha. Sangha also admitted to distributing ketamine in connection with another overdose death.
