A fire, erupting yesterday evening in two air-conditioned coaches of the Hyderabad-Jaipur Special Express at Nampally Railway Station, triggered scenes of confusion. Flames engulfed B1 and B2 coaches just minutes before the train's scheduled 7 pm departure. Fortunately, no passengers were aboard these specific compartments at the time, averting any injuries.
The blaze was met with a swift response. Railway staff initiated efforts, and fire services were summoned. Eyewitnesses described vendors and others using water-refilling hoses to combat the flames, a detail corroborated by the deployment of three fire engines by the Telangana Fire Services department. While authorities quickly contained the immediate threat, the cause of the fire remains unknown, with investigations apparently underway. Visuals from the scene showed dense smoke billowing from the coaches, creating a chaotic atmosphere on the platform and among onlookers.
