Wayne Lineker, the entrepreneur behind Ibiza's O Beach Club, has detailed significant financial and material losses stemming from his past struggles with alcohol. Lineker, who is approaching a year of sobriety, spoke recently about the repercussions of his drinking habits.

The entrepreneur revealed a specific incident involving a "ridiculous" drunken injury that incurred a cost of £30,000. He also stated he lost a new Bentley and 26 pairs of designer sunglasses due to his alcoholism.

Lineker's accounts highlight a period where he consumed alcohol daily for the 13 years since his beach club opened. This pattern of drinking led to severe health consequences. He experienced two serious bouts of pneumonia, resulting in a seven-week hospital stay where he lost 11 kilograms.

The impact of his drinking extended to his family life. Lineker's son expressed concern, informing him that it was no longer safe for him to pick up his granddaughters from school. This realization, coupled with his health scares, served as a significant turning point. He has since described attending rehab as "the best decision of my life."

Lineker has also reflected on the sheer volume of his consumption, estimating he had "52,000 drinks in 13 years." While he maintains he didn't drink heavily until around age 30, he later "made up for lost time." He noted that during his recovery, he attended his daughter Tia's wedding, where he reconciled with his brother Gary after a 15-year estrangement. Lineker is reportedly planning to share more of his experiences in a forthcoming book.
