The Chicago Bulls halted a seven-game losing streak Tuesday night, defeating the Washington Wizards 129-98. This marks the team's first victory since a recent front-office shake-up.
Rob Dillingham registered a career-high 26 points in the win, with Reese contributing 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Sharife Cooper also adding 17 points. The Bulls dominated the league-worst Wizards in the initial game of a two-game series.
Management Reaffirms Coaching Position Amidst Slump
In the wake of the performance, CEO Michael Reinsdorf publicly stated his desire for coach Billy Donovan to remain with the team next season. This comes after a significant downturn for the Bulls, who saw their record fall from 23-22 in January to a much bleaker outlook, having lost 27 of their subsequent 34 contests.
The Bulls will attempt to sweep their season series against the Wizards in the upcoming game.
