Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi has appealed to the public, especially younger individuals and administrators of social media groups, to refrain from circulating provocative or misleading material. This includes rumors, fake news, communal messages, doctored images, and inflammatory videos.

"All responsible public should exercise restraint and responsibility while using digital platforms," Dudi stated, emphasizing that the police are closely watching online behavior.

In one instance, Chittoor cybercrime police launched an investigation after obscene links were posted from a government official's compromised mobile phone. The official stated his phone had been hacked and that the links were shared without his knowledge.
Separately, in September 2023, Chittoor police initiated a probe and cautioned the public against spreading misinformation concerning the death of a 16-year-old girl. The investigation began after a complaint from the victim's family following the discovery of her body in a well.
