GUARD INTERVENES IN ALTERCATION, IS FATALLY SHOT
Jordan Jones, a 28-year-old security guard from Lawrenceville, died after being shot early Saturday morning at the Saddle Bar in Acworth. The incident unfolded around 2:42 a.m. when Jones reportedly attempted to de-escalate a dispute between a man and a woman. Police were dispatched to the scene on Cowan Road following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered Jones with a gunshot wound and rendered aid until emergency medical services could attend.

Daniel Parsons, 25, of Douglasville, has been apprehended and faces charges including 'felony murder', 'aggravated battery', and 'aggravated assault'. He is currently held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. The exact circumstances leading to the fatal shooting remain under official investigation.

The Saddle Bar, a recently established venue, released a statement via its social media acknowledging the death of its security employee. Management indicated plans to contribute to Jones' family. While some accounts describe Jones' actions as an attempt to "protect a woman" or break up a fight, the full scope of the confrontation is still being pieced together by investigators.
