Authorities deployed drone cameras and conducted extensive searches across Andhra Pradesh as part of 'Operation Vajra Prahar,' a coordinated drive targeting the illicit drug trade and associated criminal elements. The operation, which appears to have spanned multiple districts including Sri Sathya Sai, Annamayya, and Anakapalli, involved monitoring individuals involved in the drug trade and illegal liquor businesses.

The scope of 'Operation Vajra Prahar' extended to rigorous enforcement actions. Authorities reported seizing numerous vehicles, with 109 two-wheelers documented as being taken in for improper documentation. Alongside these seizures, police engaged with individuals labeled as 'rowdy-sheeters,' bringing around 20 such persons in for what was described as 'counselling.' In at least one instance, in Vijayawada, a reported incident involved a suspect allegedly attempting to fire upon police personnel, leading to the seizure of a countrymade pistol and five rounds of ammunition. Other seizures across various districts included nine kgs of ganja, 100 grams of cannabis, and 10 kgs of contraband.

Beyond the direct enforcement, the operation incorporated public outreach. Police conducted awareness campaigns, interacting with residents and administering pledges aimed at fostering a 'drug-free society.' These sessions focused on educating the public about the perceived health and legal risks associated with drug use. Searches were intensified in locations identified as 'sensitive areas,' including rented accommodations, lodges, abandoned structures, transportation hubs, and places frequented by known offenders. The operation was reportedly carried out under the direction of District SPs, with the DGP and EAGLE IG overseeing aspects of the drive.

The coordinated nature of 'Operation Vajra Prahar' suggests a state-level initiative. Reports indicate its execution in diverse locations such as Kadiri, Penukonda, Puttaparthi, Madanapalle, Angallu, Rayachoti, and Anakapalli, among others. The overarching aim, as articulated by officials, was to combat the drug menace and deter related criminal activities, thereby enhancing public safety across the region.
